The Hope Wellness Center is a holistic clinic in the broadest sense of the word. We market health awareness and cancer screening, as well as tuberculosis and HIV testing, to health conscious consumers in the Washington DC and Northern Virginia area. As interest in cancer awareness and HIV prevention has increased, the demand for early detection and prevention has also increased. To meet the expected demand for better and earlier screening for cancer, as well as tuberculosis and HIV testing and counseling, the Hope Wellness Center is seeking the financing necessary to add new equipment and hire additional medical and non-medical staff as needed.
Statistics show that “over two million breast cancer survivors are living in the United States today.” The Hope Wellness Center is unique in that it will provide quality professional care to cancer patients and their families. Hope Center is a preventative clinic that will teach and educate patients, as well as provide support groups for their family members. The vision of Hope Center is to provide tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, breast and prostate cancer information and screening. After several years of analysis, Hope Center has realized its niche in the greater Virginia area. We are a much needed resource to the lower socio-economic men and women of African American decent. However, we will reach out to all without respect to race, gender, age, the ability to pay for care or educational background. We know that cancer certainly has no respect of race, creed or color and we must combat this disease on all fronts.
Sisters of Hope Inc., the founding organization, was started in June 2000. A group of medical professionals came together seeking to find a cure for breast and prostate cancer. We are determined to work together as a team to educate and support patients and family members living with these dreaded diseases. Our determination is to teach prevention by showing and telling the community how important it is to do self breast exams, and know your family history.
